Helper Octopus reconciliation

The helper’s Octopus card has no transaction history, but every top-up receipt prints a balance — FamilyVault estimates total spending between consecutive balances and surfaces the gaps, so employers never have to ask.

Interval estimation

Octopus has no per-trip history. Using the balances printed on consecutive top-up receipts, the system estimates total spending for each interval — not individual fares.

Top-ups are not spending

A top-up only moves money into the card — it is not spending until you actually spend it. Top-ups and fares are booked separately.

Interval gaps surface

Amounts within an interval that do not reconcile appear as pending records — classify them with one tap.

Estimates are based on the timestamps and balances printed on receipts and are not guaranteed to be exact — always verify against the Octopus app or the operator’s official statement. Octopus is a Hong Kong card product; reconciliation for other regions is on the roadmap.
